Katora Lake is located high in the foothills of the mountains in the Kumrat Valley in the northern regions of Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Water collects in this lake from the melting glaciers in the mountains.

It rains several times a day here. The mountains here are very high. The incoming clouds that were blocking the area here only rain for a short time during the day.
