Flight Experience

1 Pre-Flight Briefing

Your paragliding experience begins with a short safety briefing from the pilot and support team. The passenger will be fitted with a helmet and harness. The pilot will inspect the wing, lines, harnesses, reserve parachute, wind direction, and landing area.

2 Take-Off

Once the pilot confirms safe conditions, the passenger and pilot will take off together from the selected mountain slope. The passenger only needs to run a few steps during take-off.

3 In-Flight Experience

During the flight, the passenger will enjoy beautiful views of Shandur's high-altitude landscape, mountain ranges, festival area, and the famous polo ground. The pilot controls everything while the passenger enjoys the adventure safely.

4 Landing

The flight ends with a controlled landing near Shandur Polo Ground, subject to safety clearance and wind conditions. Ground support team assists with landing.

Safety Information

Paragliding is a weather-dependent adventure sport. Safety will always be the first priority. The final decision to fly will be made by the pilot and safety team.

The flight may be delayed, rescheduled, shortened, or cancelled due to:

❓ How long will the flight last?

The expected flight duration is approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on wind, weather, take-off height, passenger weight, and pilot assessment.

❓ Where will the flight take off from?

The planned take-off point will be from a selected mountain slope inside Shandur National Park, facing the Qibla direction, subject to wind direction and safety approval.

❓ Where will we land?

The planned landing area will be near Shandur Polo Ground, depending on wind direction, safety clearance, and crowd control.

❓ Is this activity safe?

Tandem paragliding is generally safe when operated by trained pilots, proper equipment, and suitable weather conditions. However, it is an adventure sport, so natural risks are involved. Safety checks are mandatory before every flight.

❓ Can the flight be cancelled?

You may record with a secured mobile phone or action camera, but loose devices are not allowed. Video service may also be available as an add-on.

About Shandur Polo Festival

The Shandur Polo Festival is held annually from June 11-12-13 at the world's highest polo ground (3,700m). Teams from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral compete in freestyle polo amidst the breathtaking Hindukush mountains. The festival includes folk music, traditional dancing, and a camping village.
